The movie “Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale” was labeled Action/Comedy/Horror. As an independent movie, it was so much more philosophical and deep than the previous 3 descriptions. The movie centers around the original Finnish Myth about Santa Claus, or Joulupukki (literally meaning Yule Goat). Joulupukki was a goat that would go around on Christmas Eve and DEMAND presents from children. Throughout history, it was later associated with Austria’s ‘Evil Christmas Spirit’ the Krampus, a half goat/half man creature that would travel alongside Santa Claus and punish the naughty children while Santa rewarded the nice. It’s unsure when Joulupukki had merged and become Santa in Finland…But Goddamn was that a great movie. I’d recommended it to EVERYONE, whether they agree with the theory of an evil Santa Claus or not.

If your interested in any of the bands listed, let me know and I’ll try to get them to you
All my band ever fucking does anymore is argue. And i’m getting fucking sick and tired of it.
I was so fucking happy when I was asked to be a guitarist for my friends band “Cynic Desire”. Sure, sucky name, but whatever. We started out doing gothy, slow songs that really didn’t show any kind of artistic talent except that our singer could hit certain notes if the humidity in the room was at a certain point. In short, it was boring as fuck.
Our lead guitarist and our vocalist were dating and then they broke up, sending the band into a spiral because now, those two wouldnt get along and it would tear the band apart. (Strike 1). Those two made up after 4 months and now everything is fine again, we even changed the name to “Karma’s Arm” and made everything more upbeat and epic.
Then last practice, our singer brings up the song ‘People are Strangers’ by The Doors that she wants to cover. Our drummer and I bring up ‘Over The Hills And Far Away’ by Nightwish. She gets all butthurt about it and flips shit and suddenly the conversation is about where we want to see the band in the future. She wants to perform to get money and its almost like the rest of the band (save the drummer) is agreeing with her, where as the drummer and I wish to continue with the band until our real careers kick in (me Production, him Culinary).
All I want to do is record, and we have that ability. We have the ability to record WITH OUT the producer asking money, HE FUCKING WANTS TO RECORD US FOR FREE! I do not know of any up and coming band that has that opportunity and ONLY THE LEAD GUITARIST AND I realize this. Our drummer really just wants to drum, our bassist and singer want this to be their career, and the guitarist and I want to record before this opportunity passes us up. But it seems like because our singer is the only girl, she feels like she is priority. And it’s pissing me the fuck off. She wont listen when we try to reason and she even wants to change the name AGAIN due to the fact that she just imagines an arm when she hears our name. And she’s hellbent on getting rid of it and going back to our slow gothy start (Strike 2).
Yet, already, I have a bassist and maybe a singer set up in case I do leave whatever we’re calling ourselves now, because I DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH THEIR SHIT ANYMORE! A band is a pasttime UNTIL it becomes a career, not the the otherway around.
